The Integrated Web Browser (Juno 5.0)

In Juno 5.0, we have integrated the Web browser into the Web screen! To go to the Web screen, click the Web tab or press Alt+B. When you go to this tab, Juno will automatically connect to the Web and take you to http://www.juno.com.

Note: If you are connected to the Web using a modem and you switch to the Read or Write screen, you stay connected to the Web for only a certain amount of time (usually a few minutes) before a window appears asking if you want to disconnect from the Web. When this window appears, you can disconnect from the Web, or you can click Cancel. If you click Cancel, the time until disconnection is reset and starts counting down again.

Connecting to the Web

You can choose to connect to the Web when you first start Juno, or you can connect any time during your Juno session by going to the Web screen. You may also notice a Connect button in the lower right-hand corner of the Web screen. When you are connected to the World Wide Web, the Connect button on the Web screen will turn into a Disconnect button. If you click the Disconnect button, Juno will end your Web connection.

Tip: You can configure Juno to not automatically connect to the Web when you click the Web tab. To find out more about this feature, click here.

To connect to the Web any time during your Juno session:

  1. Click the Web tab.
  2. Juno will connect to the Web.

If you did not configure Juno to automatically connect when you click the Web tab, click Connect in the lower right corner of the Web screen.

Opening a new browser

To browse the Web, you would normally click the Web tab and view Web pages in the browser window on the Web screen. When you want to view two Web pages at the same time, you can open a new browser.

To open a new browser:

  1. Go to the File menu and select Open New Browser.

Another window will open containing Juno's Integrated Web browser. The new browser contains only the browser and does not include the Read or Write tabs.

To close a secondary browser:

  1. In the secondary browser, go to the File menu and select Close.

Moving between a new browser and Juno

To move to the Read screen from a new browser:

  1. Go to the Navigate menu and select Read Email, or press Alt+R.

To move to the Write screen from a new browser:

  1. Go to the Navigate menu and select Write Email, or press Alt+W.
