Privacy Settings (Juno 5.0)

We have added three new features to help you protect your privacy while browsing the Web with Juno 5.0.

Clearing Web browsing history

The Internet Explorer browser used by Juno keeps a log, called a history, of each Web page you visit. By default, this history is saved when you exit Juno. It is recommended that you periodically clear your Web browsing history to free up space on your computer.

To clear your Web browsing history:

  1. Go to the Options menu and select Web Preferences.
  2. In the Web Preferences box, under Juno Privacy Settings, click Clear History Now.
  3. Click OK.

Tip: To clear your Web browsing history every time you exit Juno, select the Clear Web browsing history when exiting check box.

Deleting cookies

When you visit a Web site, a file called a cookie is stored on your computer. This cookie file stores your preferences for that Web site and can be accessed only by the Web site that stored it there. It is recommended that you periodically delete these cookie files from your computer.

To delete cookies:

  1. Go to the Options menu and select Web Preferences.
  2. In the Web Preferences box, under Juno Privacy Settings, click Delete Cookies Now.
  3. Click OK.

Tip: To delete cookies every time you exit Juno, select the Delete all cookies when exiting check box.

Deleting temporary Internet files

Juno stores temporary files, such as Web pages, images, and sounds, on your computer's hard drive as you browse the Web. By default, these files are saved after you exit Juno, so that the next time you revisit a Web page, these files are used again to speed the loading time. To free up space on your computer, it is recommended that you periodically delete these temporary Internet files.

To delete temporary Internet files:

  1. Go to the Options menu and select Web Preferences.
  2. In the Web Preferences box, under Juno Privacy Settings, click Delete Temporary Internet Files Now.
  3. Click OK.

Tip: To delete temporary Internet files every time you exit Juno, select the Delete temporary Internet files when exiting check box.
