How do I search through an email message? (Juno 5.0)

Instead of scrolling through a message to find a particular piece of information, you can use Juno to search the text of a message to locate the information quickly. By default, Juno searches an entire message or Web page for partial and case-insensitive matches. To fine-tune your search, you can change the advanced search options.

To search for text in a message in Juno 3.0 or later:

  1. Place the insertion point in the message you want to search.
  2. Go to the Edit menu and select Find Text in Message.
  3. In the Find Text in Current Message box, type the word or phrase you want to find in the Search for box.
  4. Click Find Next. If the word or phrase is found in the message, it is highlighted in the message.
  5. To find more than one occurrence of the word or phrase in the same message, click Find Next again.
If you need to fine-tune your search, click Advanced to change the advanced search options.
  1. When you have finished searching, click Close.

To change the advanced search options in Juno 3.0 or later:

  1. Go to the Edit menu and select Find Text in Message.
  2. In the Find Text in Current Message window, click Advanced to expand the box. (When the box is expanded, the Advanced button changes to a Basic button.) You have the following search options:
  • To search the entire message regardless of the cursor position, click Entire message.

  • To search from the point where the cursor is positioned towards the top of the message, click From here up.

  • To search from the point where the cursor is positioned towards the bottom of the message, From here down.

  • To search for a word or phrase that matches the word or phrase in the Search for box exactly, select the Match whole word only check box.

  • To search for a word or phrase that matches the capitalization style of the word or phrase in the Search for box, select the Match case check box.

Note: This feature is not available in Juno 2.0. To determine which version of Juno is installed on your computer

  1. Open Juno.
  2. Go to the Help menu and select About Juno.
  3. The version of Juno currently installed on your computer will be displayed at the top of the About Juno window that appears.
