Failed connecting to our server

This page applies to Mac OS 9 users only.

The Failed connecting to our server error shows up when your Juno connection is not working properly, and it can have several causes. Here are some steps you can follow to try to prevent this error from appearing:

Possible Solutions
A. Reboot your computer
B. Adjust your firewall settings
C. Try a different access number
D. Verify your modem settings
E. Check your network settings

A. Reboot your computer

Most of the time the Failed connecting to our server error can be easily resolved by rebooting your computer. Simply shut down your computer from the Special menu, and then turn it on again.

B. Adjust your Firewall settings

In order to successfully connect to Juno, you will need to change the Internet security setting of your firewall program to a setting that is compatible with any dial-up ISP such as Juno, usually Medium.

Occasionally, after the initial installation of the Juno software, you may receive a notice that exec or ZCast is trying to logon to the Internet. If you see this message, please ensure that you click Yes to allow Juno the software access to the Internet. If you don't allow access, our software will be unable to function properly.

C. Try a different access number

Your connection may have been dropped due to technical difficulties with the access number you are using. Try connecting to Juno again. If the problem persists, try using another access number in your area. For instructions on how to change your access number, please click here.

D. Verify your modem settings

If your modem is not configured correctly, Juno will not function properly. To verify that your modem configuration is correct, please complete the following steps:

  1. Go to the Apple Menu, select Control Panels and choose Modem.
  2. In the Modem window, choose your modem from dropdown menu (Such as Apple Internal 56K Modem)

  1. Change the Sound and Dialing preferences as needed.
  2. Make sure the box next to Ignore dial tone is NOT checked.
  3. Go to the File menu and select Quit. If you are asked to save your changes, click Yes.

E. Check your network settings

  1. Go to the Apple Menu, select Control Panels, and choose TCP / IP.
  2. Make sure Connect via: is set to PPP.

  1. Make sure that Configure: is set to Using PPP Server.
  2. Go to the File menu and select Quit. If you are asked to save your changes, click Yes.
