Common Browser Errors / Solutions Error - Protocol not configured If you get this error, your Web browser has probably been configured for use by another program (such as Quicken or another Internet service provider). To solve this problem, you will have to install a new copy of your Web browser. You can install Microsoft Internet Explorer from the Juno CD-ROM. If you have reinstalled your Web browser and still receive this error, your Microsoft Dial-Up Networking installation may be corrupted. You will have to uninstall and reinstall Dial-Up Networking. If you are currently using Dial-Up Networking with another program, such as fax software or software from another Internet service provider (ISP), you will need to reconfigure those applications after reinstalling Dial-Up Networking. Dial-Up Networking is installed from your original Windows installation files, so please make sure you have your Windows installation files on disk or CD-ROM, or that they are backed up on your computer. To uninstall Dial-Up Networking in Windows 95/98: - Exit Juno and any other programs that may be running.
- Click the Windows Start button, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel window, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- On the Add/Remove Programs Properties screen, click the Windows Setup tab.
- In the Components list, double-click Communications.
- On the Communications screen, clear the Dial-Up Networking check box and click OK.
- On the Add/Remove Programs Properties screen, click OK. Dial-Up Networking will be uninstalled.
- After uninstallation is complete, restart your computer.
To reinstall Dial-Up Networking in Windows 95/98: - Please make sure your Windows installation files (on disk, CD-ROM, or backed up on your computer) are available.
- Exit Juno and any other programs that may be running.
- Click the Windows Start button, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel window, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- On the Add/Remove Programs Properties screen, click the Windows Setup tab.
- In the Components list, double-click Communications.
- On the Communications screen, select the Dial-Up Networking check box and click OK.
- On the Add/Remove Programs Properties screen, click OK.
- If the Windows installation files are on your computer, installation will begin. If they are not, you will be prompted to insert your Windows installation disk or CD-ROM. Insert the disk or CD-ROM into the appropriate drive and click OK. Installation will begin.
- After installation is complete, restart your computer. You must restart your computer for this new setting to take effect.
