Error - Authorization Failure (527-14056) (Juno 5.0)

If you are having trouble sending or receiving mail and get this error message, you probably use your Juno account on more than one computer. This error message usually indicates one or both of the following:

  • You disabled remote access to your account on one of the other computers.
  • You changed the password to your account on one of the other computers.

If you disabled remote access on one of the other computers, you will have to re-enable it on the computer where you originally disabled the remote access. If you changed the password on one of the other computers, you will have to change your password to your new password on the computer where you are getting the error message.

To enable remote access in Juno 3.0 or later:

  1. Start Juno on the computer where you originally disabled the remote access.
  2. Go to the Options menu and select Password and Security.
  3. The Password and Security screen will appear. Under Security, make sure the Allow access to my account from other computers check box is selected. If it is not, select it.
  4. Click OK.

To enable remote access in Juno 2.0:

  1. Go to the Options menu, point to Remote Access, and click Enable.

If for some reason you cannot enable remote access to your account yourself (for example, if you disabled remote access on your grandmother's computer in Florida and you live in New York, or your hard drive crashed and you had to reinstall all the software on your computer), we can enable remote access for you.

Click here for a list of our different support options that can help you with this issue.

You can also send the following details to postmaster@juno.com to get remote access enabled for your account.

  • Your Juno email ID (the user name associated with your account)
  • Your Personal Identification Number (PIN)

Note: If you are writing from another account, we cannot process your request unless you send us the PIN associated with the original account.

You can create a four-digit Juno PIN by visiting our Web site at https://account.juno.com/s/pincreate.

Note: You need your password to create a PIN.

To change your password in Juno 3.0 and later:

  1. Go to the Options menu and select Password and Security.
  2. The Password and Security screen will appear. Type your current password (the password you want to change) in the Old password box.

Juno requires your current password to verify that you are authorized to make changes. Only asterisks (*) are displayed on your screen while you type so no one passing by can see what you are typing.

  1. In the New password box, type your new password, which can be any combination of letters or numbers from a minimum of 4 up to a maximum of 64 characters.
  2. In the Confirm new password box, re-type your new password.
  3. Click OK. Juno will update the password information on its central computers.
  4. After your password has successfully been changed, you will see a confirmation message. Click OK.

To change your password in Juno 2.0:
