Is Juno compatible with Windows Vista?

Yes. The latest version of Juno software– version 8.5 - has been fully tested and certified to work with Windows Vista. However, if you use Windows 98/ME, 2000or XP, Juno recommends that you continue to use version 8.4.

Do I have a Vista-compatible version of Juno software?

Version 8.5 has been fully tested and certified to work with Windows Vista. To identify the version of Juno software currently installed on your computer:

  1. Launch Juno by Double-clicking the Juno icon on your desktop.
  2. Right-click the Juno icon in your systray (in the lower right corner of your screen) and click on "System Information".
  3. Your Juno version number is listed on the second line of the screen that opens.
    example 1: Client Version=A0855DJ (If you see this, you have a Vista-compatible version of Juno software)
    example 2: Client Version=8.JQ4 (this is not a Vista-compatible Juno version but works well with Windows 98/ME, 2000 or XP)

Windows Vista Minimum System Requirements:

  • 800MHz processor
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 20 MB free disk space
  • 56k modem
  • Internet Explorer 7.0
  • SVGA monitor with 800x600 resolution

How do I get the latest version of Juno for Windows Vista?

You can either download the Vista-compatible version of Juno software or order a free Juno software CD-ROM.

If you'd like to order a Vista-compatible Juno software CD-ROM, click here. CD shipments may take up to 5-7 business days for delivery.

If you need the Vista-compatible software urgently, please click here and follow the instructions listed below to download the software. Note that this link downloads version 8.5 – currently recommended for Windows Vista users only. If you use Windows 98/ME,2000 or XP, click here to download version 8.4.

  1. You will be asked to Open or Save the incoming file. Click Save.
  2. In the Save As window, select your Desktop.
  3. Click Save.
  4. The Download Complete window will appear once the download is finished. Click Close to exit. The Juno executable file (JunoTurboSetup.exe) will be placed on your Desktop for future use.

How do I install my new version of Juno software?

Installing your new Juno software is easy. If you are installing from CD, simply insert your Juno CD into the drive and follow the on-screen instructions to install your software. If you are downloading the software, please follow these instructions:

  1. Find the downloaded JunoTurboSetup.exe file on your Desktop, and double-click on it. If you can't find the file, click the Windows Start button, point to Search, select All Files and Folders, and type: JunoTurboSetup.exe .
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install your new version of Juno.

Can I use my existing account to login to Juno after I upgrade to Windows Vista?

Yes. Your email address, settings, and preferences will remain the same.

Do I need Administrator Privileges to install Juno for Windows Vista?

When installing Juno for Windows Vista, you may notice a message stating that you need Administrator Privileges to install Juno.

Windows Vista users can be logged on to their computer under an Administrator, Protective Administrator, or Standard User account. While Juno for Windows Vista is fully compatible with all levels of Vista accounts, you will need to have Administrator privileges in order to install it. To install Juno for Windows Vista, follow the instructions for the account level you use.

  • Protective Administrator: Install Juno for Windows Vista normally
  • Standard User: Open the User Account Control window, and enter the Protective Administrator account ID and Password where prompted, then install Juno for Windows Vista.
