Can I use Macmail to send email from a non-Juno account? Yes. If you'd like to send an email from a different account, say, user@yahoo.com, with Macmail, you will just need to configure the software properly. These instructions will help you configure Mac mail to get your Juno email. - Open Mac Mail
- From the Mail menu, select Preferences.
- Click the Accounts icon, then the Add Account button.
- In the Account Information tab, fill in the following:
- Account Type: Select the drop-down menu and choose POP.
- Description: Type your display name.
- Email Address: Enter your full non-Juno email address (such as user@yahoo.com)
- Full Name: Type the full name you would like email recipients to see you as.
- Incoming Mail Server: Type the correct POP server (in this example it would be pop.mail.yahoo.com)
- User Name: Enter your user name (in this example it would be user)
- Password: Fill in your password.
- Outgoing Mail Server: You will need to set this to the appropriate server. Select the drop-down menu and choose Add Server...
- In the Outgoing Mail Server box, type the correct SMTP server (in this example it would be smtp.mail.yahoo.com)
NOTE: You must be logged on to Juno in order to successfully send non-Juno mail. - Click OK in the SMTP Server Options screen.
- Click OKin the Account information screen.
- Your non-Juno mail display name will now appear on the Accounts screen. Close the Preferences window by clicking the red circle in the upper-left corner of the window.
