Juno freezes when I try to access an FTP site (Juno 5.0)

If you are browsing the Web and type an address for a location on an FTP server, Juno may stop responding. Please note, the address of a location on an FTP server begins with ftp:// instead of http://.

To fix this problem, you will need to modify a setting in Internet Explorer. Specifically, you will need to disable the folder view for FTP sites. You can do this from within Juno 5.0.

To disable the folder view for FTP sites in Juno 5.0:

  1. In Juno, go to the Options menu and select Web Preferences.
  2. The Juno Web Preferences screen will appear. Under Web Browser Settings, click Internet Options.
  3. On the Internet Options screen, click the Advanced tab.
  4. Scroll through the settings until you reach Browsing.
  5. Under Browsing, clear the Enable folder view for FTP sites check box.
  6. Click OK.
